Peru - Land of good people and amazing place PART 2

Fourth Day: Cuzco ( http://picasaweb.google.ca/vnmahe/Day4?authkey=apjUHFqNuH8 ) Today (Tuesday Aug 5 th ) was a break day for me. I requested this day to be free, so that I could explore Cuzco on my own and also to visit places which I thought was worth a second visit. I started by visiting the Sun temple Qorikancha again and then visited the adjacent museum. Next stop for me was the ‘Templo y Merced” museum. This little known museum has the world’s second largest pearl placed on 1.3m high solid gold statue. It was amazing. One funny incident that happened was when the guide was showing the group the Pearl, I was scratching my head as to where it was. When they told me it was the second biggest I thought it was something really big. But it turned to be in the shape of a fish and the size of a small stone. Well, anyways the trip was worth it and the entire place was awesome.. There was a place inside the museum where a person in the 16 th century lived for 12 years

Peru - Land of good people and amazing place PART 1

This email is to update about my trip to Peru and the good time I had there… J Armed with my new digital SLR camera everything was supposed to be fun…. It was a welcome change for me personally and I honestly enjoyed the entire trip. Peru is a beautiful place and the people over there are extremely good. I made so many friends over there that cannot believe it. The people whom I met and became my friends are in the age range of 6 to 60, from Japan to US, from politically oriented people to backpackers. My trip to was restricted to the Mountain ranges (Cuzco & Puno) and the coast (Lima). I avoided the Amazon area as rabies (vampire Bats) is prevalent there now. First day: ( http://picasaweb.google.com/vnmahe/DayOneCuzoCityTour?authkey=Spiek0RldEw ) I reached Lima on Aug 1 st late night and directly went to Cuzco the next morning. My guide came to pick me up from the airport and too me to my accommodation. It was in a family stay and very close to the Plaza De Arms(Main sq

Bangalore as well

It was a normal day for me at the office and after finishing the morning work, I just typed in the IBN website and was shocked to see that 7 blasts had rocked Bangalore (Silicon Valley of India). First thing that flew past my mind was my friends and family who stay there and the reality that Bangalore was being ushered into the elite category of bomb blasts at cities worldwide. Having been a veteran of 2 bomb blasts in Mumbai (Ghatkopar one & 6 serial blasts including Zaveri Bazaar), I know about what goes through the people's mind in the city. So who is responsible for this blast in Bangalore? Sources says SIMI or LeT. Our 'democratic' government was quick to point out that the foreign funded people are behind it. Actions would follow to prevent such type of incidents in the future. This is the 13 blasts that is occuring after 2003 in a major Indian city and every time we hear the same words. No disrespect towards our police, judicial system, but where are the results
